The group is awaiting the Information Revolution Strategy. A current key issue is to identify hosting for Smart cards: the policy to permit non-NHS organisations to become RAs. The group is progressing work to identify methodologies and practicalities.

NACS (National Administrative Codes Service) codes provide a unique identifier for any organisational entity providing NHS services, whether an NHS trust or PCT, a hospital or treatment centre, or a ward within that hospital. NACS codes will also identify mobile units and the sites at which those units are deployed to deliver their services.
